Why did I decide to study podcasts?
I’ve been listening to podcasts for over seven years, specifically fiction podcasts. As soon as I started listening to my first fictional podcasts, I fell in love with the medium, especially with exceptional podcasts such as Welcome to night vale, the Thrilling adventure hour, Wolf 359, The Leviathan Chronicles, and The Byron Chronicles. How could someone not fall in love with a medium that transmitted stories full of adventure, mystery, and emotions, even more so, with a community with such a unique form of collaboration?

So, when I started my Ph.D. studies, I didn’t hesitate to focus my research on this medium and its community.
What am I studying?
There are multiple perspectives that can be used to analyze the podcast’s logic, and every day, there are new elements to explore. However, for my Ph.D. thesis, I will examine the fictional podcasting communities and their collaborative networks.
How will I study it?
To analyze the podcasts, I will use a mixed methodology. For starters, I create surveys to find out the general opinions of the podcast creators and audience. And then in-depth interviews to understand podcasting communities better.
